SOUTH BEND, Ind. (October 2, 2024) – The South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership is proud to announce several strategic promotions and new hires that will enhance the organization’s ability to support regional growth and development. These leadership changes reflect the Partnership’s commitment to building strong, connected communities across the region.

Liz Folkerts has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications. In her new role, Liz will lead efforts to elevate the visibility of the Partnership’s initiatives, ensuring consistent, impactful communication across diverse platforms, as well as sharing the story of the South Bend – Elkhart region. Liz has played a pivotal role in advancing the Partnership’s communication strategies, and her promotion reflects her exceptional leadership and vision for the region’s future.

Lauren Thomas has been promoted to Director of Talent Initiatives, where she will continue to spearhead initiatives focused on workforce development, talent attraction, and retention in the South Bend – Elkhart region. Lauren’s leadership has been instrumental in driving key programs, and her expanded role will allow her to further influence regional talent strategies.

Martin Mechtenberg steps into the role of Senior Director of Entrepreneurship and Industry Innovation. Martin will lead efforts to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, guiding key initiatives to support startups, small businesses, and innovation-driven projects in the region. His expertise and passion for innovation will help shape the future of entrepreneurship in South Bend – Elkhart.

Lori Flotow has been promoted to Manager of Operations and Executive Assistant. Lori will manage day-to-day operations and provide executive-level support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization. Her organizational skills and experience will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Partnership’s operations.

In addition to these promotions, the Partnership welcomed Stephanie Hamsher as the Manager of Programs and Alayna Wort as the new Manager for Talent Development Programs in June, along with Angela Workman as READI Finance Manager in September.
