South Bend and Mayor Pete Buttigieg will host members of the United States Conference of Mayors Task Force on Automation from July 26-27. Mayor Buttigieg, who chairs the task force, will be joined by mayors and thought leaders on the future of automation and artificial intelligence.
The task force examines a number of automation challenges, including:
– The impact and opportunity of automated systems for city-as-enterprise
– Impacts on planning, infrastructure, and place-making decisions
– The future of work and evolution of labor markets
– The changing relationship between work, income, and identity
Members of the media will be able to capture B-roll of the event on Friday, July 27 from 11:50 a.m. to noon at Studebaker 113. Attendees will then conduct a short media availability at noon.
