Celebrating Minority Business Excellence hosted by the Business Diversity Initiative
The Greater Elkhart Chamber’s Celebrating Minority Business Excellence dinner is to honor the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of minority businesses in our community. The event also provides a platform for entrepreneurs to network with leaders within their industry and celebrate this year’s award recipients in communications, community impact, finance, health, nonprofit, restaurant and service.
Our keynote speaker will be Marlene Dotson, President & CEO of the Indiana Latino Institute (ILI). Since 2011, Dotson has served as President & CEO of the Indiana Latino Institute (ILI), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance Latino educational attainment and workforce preparedness statewide through advocacy, leadership development, and culturally responsive programming. Under Dotson’s leadership, ILI created and expanded its programming including the Indiana Latino Leadership Circle, the Indiana Latino Legislative Agenda, the Indiana Higher Education Consortium, Hispanic Heritage Month events, and the Indiana Latino Education Summit, and secured more than $17 million in scholarships for Indiana Latino students. She has lifted Latino Hoosier voices and offered expert testimony to promote policies and practices that expand opportunities and improve outcomes for Latinos.
