Startup South Bend – Elkhart receives Career Pathways grant award for $300,000 from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County

ELKHART, Ind. (May 14, 2024) — The Community Foundation of Elkhart County has awarded Startup South Bend – Elkhart a Career Pathways grant of $300,000 for its three-year award cycle.

The funds will help Startup South Bend – Elkhart in promoting and fostering the region’s entrepreneurial network through ecosystem building. An initiative of the South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership, Startup South Bend – Elkhart works to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and culture in the region, identifies and nurtures new business startups, and supports the growth of existing high potential businesses.

“We believe that Startup South Bend – Elkhart is another excellent example of our mission to improve the quality of life in Elkhart County by inspiring generosity,” said Pete McCown, president of the Community Foundation. “We are pleased with what they’ve presented to us, and we expect them to be successful in their efforts. Startup South Bend – Elkhart is another vital link in the chain of non-profit entities that are improving our quality of life in Elkhart County.”

Startup South Bend – Elkhart’s primary goals are to increase the number of potential entrepreneurs through strategic targeted marketing and outreach, as well as connecting entrepreneurs to resources such as funds, mentors, and talent.

“We are ecstatic with the Career Pathways grant from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County,” said Startup South Bend – Elkhart’s Director of Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Marty Mechtenberg. “These funds will be critical to support our region’s growing entrepreneurship ecosystem.”​​​​​​
